In today's podcast, we're celebrating the role our Catholic schools and colleges play in society. New research from the Catholic Education Service's Digest of 2012 Census Data for Schools and Colleges shows Catholic schools are more ethnically diverse and higher performing than national averages.
Two experts in field of education visited our studio to discuss the findings of the CES census to give us the story behind the statistics.
Peter Irvine CBE
Following a successful teaching career, Peter was Her Majesty's Inspector (HMI) for 23 years. He was awarded the CBE in the New Year's Honours in 2002. Peter compiled the report and is a consultant to the Catholic Education Service (CES).
Greg has been the Deputy Director of the Catholic Education Service since April 2010 working on the historic visit of Pope Benedict XVI to the UK and the Year of Catholic Education. Before coming to the CES he served as an MP for Hyndburn, Lancashire for 18 years.
