Young people at an event

The Archdiocese of Liverpool and partners are bringing the spirit of Adoremus to the city of Liverpool - offering more than 28 excellent, faith-enriching events that are open to all and aim to celebrate our faith in the Eucharist.

The Adoremus 'Parallel Programme' will deliver great speakers, fantastic music, workshops, prayer, cultural events and much more.

What's on offer?

On Saturday 8 September there's a dynamic Youth Congress during the day, not to mention the opportunity to join in Nightfever that evening.

You can also join silent prayer with the Carmelites, enter into prayerful worship music with Youth 2000 and learn more about the extraordinary 15 year-old who’s just been declared Venerable - on the path to sainthood!

The current hot topic of immigration, refugees and asylum-seekers is looked at in the context of an historic Irish immigrant parish.

An exhibition looking back to the previous Eucharistic Congress in London in 1908 continues this walk through history.

There’s lots on offer for families, such as family-friendly Holy Hour with the Redemptorist Community and peace-making in families with 'Together for the Common Good' (T4CG). Plus you can try your hand at bread-making from scratch or engage with the “Messy Church”.

Our Christian neighbours, the Anglican Bishop of Liverpool the Right Reverend Paul Bayes and Reverend Dr Sheryl M Anderson, the Methodist District Chair will discuss Jesus’s words “I am the bread of life” with the Most Reverend Malcolm McMahon OP, Archbishop of Liverpool, with an opportunity for audience questions.

Naturally there’ll be lots of music, from an original concert of classical music written by Jesuits and composers with ‘Jesuit connections’, to the stunning Soul Sanctuary gospel choir who will also perform a concert.

And how could we be in Liverpool without the Beatles? Their iconic music will feature in the evening sing-along of famous Liverpool songs.

These are just some of the offerings extended by our Liverpool hosts along with others, for the full programme check here especially as some of the events are allocated, meaning places have to be secured in advance.
