Archbishop of Canterbury: Church of England Synod joins Proclaim '15 delegates in prayer for "the evangelisation of this country"

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Archbishop Justin Welby, has sent a message of prayerful support to those gathered in Birmingham for a major national evangelisation event - a key part of the Proclaim '15 initiative. Archbishop Welby will be at the Church of England's General Synod in York at the same time as Proclaim, but assured delegates of his prayers for the success of the initiative the evangelisation of this country.

Bishops hold a minute’s silence for victims of terrorism as Bishop of Nottingham is ordained

The Bishops of England and Wales held a minute’s silence in memory of the victims of last week’s terrorist violence before the Episcopal ordination of Fr Pat McKinney in Nottingham, 3 July. The Pope commemorates the late Patriarch of Cilicia of the Armenians

Pope Francis has sent a message to Bishop Gregoire Ghabroyan, administrator of the Patriarchate of Cilicia of the Armenians, for the funeral of His Beatitude Nerses Bedros XIX Tarmouni, who died on 25 June, to be held in the Cathedral of St. Elie and St. Gregory the Illuminator in Beirut.
