It's estimated that at least two-thirds of the baptised Catholic community in England and Wales are non-churchgoing - approximately four million people. This makes a significant constituency of people who, in most cases, self-identify as Catholic but never or rarely attend Mass. The Department for Evangelisation and Catechesis has initiated a national project to support ministry to this group of people.

Crossing the Threshold is a national tour supporting outreach and ministry to non-churchgoing Catholics. The tour launched in York on 12 November 2011 and was followed by a highly successful days in Birmingham, Crawley and Westminster. There are still places available to attend the final resource day of 2012.
