Bishop Conry Intro

Bishop Kieran Conry introduces a new initiative to promote the Sacrament of Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

Rt Rev Kieran Conry, who is Chair of the Bishops’ Department for Evangelisation and Catechesis, explains what is being offered this Lent, and why it is being offered, in support of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

“The sacrament that we call ‘Confession’ is enjoying something of a re-discovery by people. First of all, the emphasis shouldn’t be on the word ‘Confession’ at all, but on the word ‘Reconciliation’, because it’s a way in which the believer experiences the reconciling love of God.”

The resources for this web section have been prepared by the Bishops’ Home Mission Desk.
