Fr Timothy Radcliffe OP

April 24 - 26, Ushaw College, Durham

There are three prominent keynote speakers delivering addresses at the 'Word of the Lord' conference in Durham. The speakers cover three key areas of scriptural engagement: Catholic Biblical Theology; the Scriptures in the Church’s pastoral ministry; and the Bible in mission and dialogue.

FR TIMOTHY RADCLIFFE OP

In 1992, Timothy Radcliffe OP was elected Master of the Dominican Order, finishing his term in 2001. He was Chancellor of the Angelicum University in Rome, S.Tomas in Manila, the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem and the Theology Faculty in Fribourg. He is now an itinerant preacher and lecturer, based at Blackfriars, Oxford, spending two thirds of the year travelling, and is a Trustee of the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development. He has written on a wide range of themes including, most recently: ‘Take the Plunge: living baptism and confirmation’. He was awarded the Michael Ramsey Prize for theological writing in 2007.

FR HENRY WANSBROUGH OSB

Dom Henry Wansbrough is a Benedictine monk and General Editor of the New Jerusalem Bible. For ten years, he was a member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, and has written and taught extensively on Scripture. He is currently the Alexander Jones Professor of Biblical Studies at Liverpool Hope University, and acts as Secretary to the International Commission for the Preparation of an English Language Lectionary.

MICHELLE MORAN

Michelle Moran is a member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity. She is a founder-member of the Sion Catholic Community for Evangelisation, which has been leading parish and school missions for over twenty-five years across the UK and further afield. Michelle is currently President of International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services, which takes her all over the world teaching and sharing the Scriptures. Michelle was an Observer at the 2008 Synod on the Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church.

The Word of the Lord Conference is organised by the Scripture Working Group at the Bishops' Conference Department for Evangelisation and Catechesis, alongside the Home Mission Desk, the Centre for Catholic Studies and Bible Society.
